Just got an email from Dave Dannenfelser (New Millennium) that two of his plays will be shown at Rutgers University in New Jersey as part of a festival of short plays. Check this out -- the dates are November 19-22.
And Kelly McAllister ('06) just let me know that the newest Applause book, ONE ON ONE The Best Men's Monologues for the 21st Century, includes Burning the Old Man. This McAllister hit is set for its premiere in April in Prague, Czechoslovakia. More on that later.
A new festival called Plucking Failures Like Ripe Fruit will be at Under St. Marks from November 20 - December 6. The festival is described as "a collection of small works by big playwrights, all of which are about people trying, and failing, at love." And our own Garth Wingfield (New Millennium) will be on the bill with Christopher Durang, Harold Pinter, and Dorothy Parker, among others. His play is entitled Please Have a Seat and Someone Will Be With You Shortly. This is a festival that sounds like a great time. And Garth has just finished writing the Foreword to our next anthology, Plays and Playwrights 2009.
