Fault Lines West Coast Premiere

February 26, 2012

Rebecca Louise Miller, author of Fault Lines, is just back from the West Coast premiere of her play. NYTE Small Press published it in print and as an ebook on kindle in Plays and Playwrights 2011.  It is also available on Indie Theater Now as a single.  Here’s Rebecca’s comments:

Returned this week from an amazing couple days in Sonoma County for the West Coast Premiere of Fault Lines. It was an unforgettable experience, I don’t even know where to begin! Audiences had such an incredibly powerful response to the play.

I did a couple radio interviews and got a plug for Indie Theater Now in one on the local NPR affiliate. It’s the Friday, Feb 24 Podcast of Curtain Call, hosted by Charles Sepos, you can listen here: http://krcb.org/featured-radio-shows/curtain-call.

And I did listen and it’s a most interesting interview.  (The interview starts at about 6 minutes into the program and runs for about 12 minutes.)

New Productions

February 20, 2012

We are always proud and pleased when plays we have published get new productions and it’s always great to see new work from this same group of talented playwrights.  ODYSSEUS DOA which we published in Plays and Playwrights 2005 and is currently available on Indie Theater Now is having a production February 23 – March 4, 2012 at Connecticut Repertory Theatre.  It will be directed by the playwright, Stephen Svoboda. If you can’t get to see the show, do look it up on Indie Theater Now.

Woodie King Jr’s New Federal Theatre, in association with Castillo Theatre, will present Court-Martial at Fort Devens by Jeffrey Sweet. You can see it beginning March 8 til April 1.  Jeffrey’s solo show, You Only Shoot the Ones You Love is available on Indie Theater Now – a great way to learn about the playwright, his style, his background.

And we just learned The National Jewish Theater will  present a limited Off-Broadway run of The Soap Myth, by Jeff Cohen, from March 23 – April 22.  Read about the play on Indie Theater Now and purchase a digital copy to read for only $1.29. An earlier play by Jeff, Uncle Jack, is part of Playing With Canons.

FRIGID Collection is Up on Indie Theater Now

February 15, 2012

Erez Ziv curated The FRIGID New York Collection — 15 plays from previous incarnations of this winter festival.  Included in this group are two of the playwrights who also grace the pages of one of our anthologies – Robert Attenweiler and Chris Harcum.  And we just published two more of Chris’ plays making the total number of plays up on Indie Theater Now 300.  And there’s still more to come.

The collection is available at a special discounted price – all 15 plays for only $12.59.

Why Read Terry Schreiber’s New Book

February 4, 2012

Terry has been a director and teacher for more than 40 years!

The book is filled with anecdotes about people you will recognize

Terry has directed on Broadway, Off Broadway, regionally, and abroad

The book recounts so many productions teaching what to do and what to avoid

Terry was honored by the Mayor of New York City for his life’s work in teaching acting.

The book is so easy to read that you’ll not ever think it is really a textbook for producers

And these are just a few reasons.  For more information visit nytesmallpress or go directly to amazon.com’s kindle store to download the book.
