From David Johnson
I will have a concert reading of my first opera libretto on June 25 at Symphony Space. It’s called THE WEDDING GIFT OF PIRATE GRANNY, and it was composed by Alla Borzova. The evening is entitled OPERA IN EDEN, and it’s presented by American Lyric Theater, as the culminating event of their Composers Librettists Development Program.
From the official ALT press release: American Lyric Theater’s Opera in Eden concert returns to Symphony Space for one night only! This evening will feature four new one-act operas in concert by resident artists from ALT’s Composer Librettist Development Program, hosted by ALT’s Director of Professional Development, composer/librettist Mark Adamo, and ALT’s Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Lawrence Edelson. Featured performers include soprano Inna Dukach, mezzo soprano Heather Johnson, mezzo soprano Sarah Heltzel, tenor Chad A. Johnson, baritone Dan Kempson, and pianist/music director Jennifer Hoppe.
